CH’TI Fetish is a new organization for kinksters and fetishists in Northern France with its homebase in Lille. To celebrate its 1-year-anniversary, the association is throwing a huge party in October called OBSESSION.
WINGS sat down with Sébastien aka Kinky Devil (he/him), one of the founders of CH’TI Fetish, to find out more. Shout out to Sébastien’s friend Baltic for his on the spot translations during the interview!
Sébastien, tell us about CH’TI Fetish!
“CH’TI Fetish started in September 2023 in Lille. My friends Tonek and Balto and I wanted to give a boost to fetish life in Northern France and Belgium. It is our aim to bring fetishists together in a safe environment, especially youngsters who are still exploring and discovering their kinks.
Every few months, we organize a Fetish Social in Le Privilège Bar in Lille. We usually start at 7 pm, and it can get very, very late. People from the North know how to party! We welcome anyone who is curious about fetish to join us for a drink.
We want our guests to feel relaxed and safe when they come to our events. We understand that it might be slightly overwhelming for newcomers to see so many men dressed in fetish gear. It is up to them if they want to show up in gear or not. We noticed that it is a lot easier for newbies to join us when they have the option to dress in their regular jeans.”
Where does the name CH’TI come from?
“CH’TI is the name for the dialects that are spoken in the Northern French region of Hauts-de-France, as well as the people who live there. It is a language that is almost unintelligible for native French speakers.”
You are organizing a new fetish party on October 19th called OBSESSION. What have you got planned?
“OBSESSION is a completely new concept. The party takes place in La Maison, a centuries old basement in Lille. It is an amazing location that we have fallen in love with. The venue is divided in different zones: a dance floor, a social hub, a BDSM area, and a backroom with slings. DJ’s Cutink, Morgan Klein and Wesley Elash will be in charge of the music.
At the moment, it is not that easy to be gay in France, like in many other places in Europe for that matter. We hope our guests will forget about their daily struggles during OBSESSION, and that they will have an enjoyable and memorable night ahead of them.”
Is there anything else you would like to add?
“OBSESSION is more than just a party, it is a weekend affair, in other words our program spans all weekend. On Saturday afternoon, Master Jeno will host a BDSM workshop, and a friend of ours will take visitors on a historical tour of Lille, followed by one of our Fetish Socials in Le Privilège in the early evening. On Sunday, there will be a special lunch, and we will close the weekend with goodbye drinks in the evening.”
